Meeanee Hall Cnr Gavin Black St & Meeanee Rd 1st Saturday every month
Magpie Market is held in the Meeanee Hall cnr Gavin Black Street and Meeanee Rd, Napier on the first Saturday of every month. We are predominantly an indoor market, with some stalls outdoors - weather permitting. 30 + stalls, friendly people and a lovely buzz make the market a great destination to meet up, browse and get those special items for home, self, or as gifts.
Our stalls offer a wide range of goods from hand-crafted items, up-cycled pieces, original art, toys, books, clothes, collectibles and good quality bric a brac. We also offer gourmet oils, sauces and food stuffs. Have a Spiritual Reading, enjoy a coffee and a treat from Heaven's Bakery Caravan and buy the kids a sausage sizzle. You can even buy some Moonshine - for your garden not for humans!.
Febuary Market Saturday 2nd, 2019 (10 - 2pm)
New stall-holders welcome
Started by Di Turner in the Bay View Hotel in 2012, Magpie Market aimed to invigorate the Bay View Village and provide an outlet for local Art & Craft people, alongside Antique dealers and Speciality Collectors. It quickly outgrew this venue and in 2015 moved to the Meeanee Hall where over 30 stalls set up inside on the first Saturday of each month. A small number of stalls set up outside, including a sausage sizzle (for a charity fundraiser), the coffee cart (most months) and people selling garden plants and such. In 2018 the Market passed into the hands of Janett Levien & Carla Pegg. We aim to become a destination market with high quality goods mingled with lower priced stalls for the kids and those looking for a bargain. As we develop we are adding entertainment, competitions, talks and demonstrations that will create a unique experience for market-goers.
